Scott Orr “Horizon”

Scott Orr’s new album “Horizon”. Similar to our last review about another Hamiltonian Dan Edmonds, Scott’s voice and songs are very soft, fragile, verb-soaked and extremely relaxing home studio recordings. Certainly, no AC/DC screaming is found here. More like, eating a gummy, laying on a blanket in the park or your backyard, putting your noise cancelling headphones on, eyes closed, with the clouds slowly drifting overhead kind of album. There are even bird field recordings on “Gray” to make the song even more serene. If you need to relax and to hear an ethereal synth/folk album as fragile as a glass jar full of butterfly wings, Scott Orr’s “Horizon” is your album.

Sidenote: If you like Horizon, he released “Horizon (Instrumental Version” as well.

RIYL: Peter Gabriel, Brian Eno, Ambient Dan Lanois, Kings of Convenience, Andre 3000 (instrumental album).
